Ophthalmic Technicians/Scribe

EyeHealth NW continues to grow, and they are looking for qualified ophthalmic technicians to support their doctors and provide quality patient care! They have openings for technicians at their East Portland Clinic, Oregon City Clinic, NW Portland Clinic, Lake Oswego Clinic, and with their Retina Team. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus, though they will train the right candidates who are not certified but have a desire to progress in a healthcare career. Applicants must enjoy helping others and have strong customer service skills. Experience is not required, but it is preferred.

They also have opportunities for Ophthalmic Scribes! If you have experience in an optometric clinic or as a medical assistant, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an ophthalmology practice offering professional growth. Experience is not required, but it is preferred. You must be able to type 60-70 wpm. EyeHealth NW offers an excellent compensation package that includes a competitive base pay, medical/dental insurance, discount on products & services, company-paid Life Insurance and Disability Insurance, generous paid time off, holiday pay, employer-matching 401(k), profit-sharing, and more! Would you like to spend a week this summer shadowing a physician? MedStaircase has collaborated with medical practices to offer Clinical Education Scholarships. These opportunities pair $1,000 stipends with intimate behind-the-scenes looks at the practice of medicine. We have clinical rotations set up in many different specialties, including pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, oncology, orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, pulmonology, pathology, and urology. To apply, complete this brief Google Form (click image for link) by 11:59pm on Monday, March 21. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 1.

Preference will be given to students who come from historically underrepresented groups in medicine. Students will be assigned to their clinical site based on dates of availability with our best efforts to match your clinical interest. Scholarships will be distributed upon completion of the weeklong clerkship.
